well i have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge and latly its been jumpn around like crazy...sometimes its at 10 psi and then it jumps all over the place...when its cold i gotn around 50 to 60 psi then after it warms up a little it starts it jumpn around, even had no pressure while i was travling on the freeway then it would jump back to 15, 20........help

You need to connect a known reliable guage right to the engine and monitor it. If it does the same thing, you most likely need an oil pump. My sunpro guage is doing weird stuff as well, but I think it is air in the lines.

Mine does this too. Sunpro electrical guage. Most time it gives a reasonable pressure, then pegs out to 0 and the needle sweeps so fast you can barely keep track of it. Especially sometimes at highway speeds. I know for sure that if this was really occuring......there wouldnt be much engine left. I think the oil starvation would be very notable at an engine screaming at highway speed, soundwise. I checked and checked and checked my wiring a few times. I think its Sunpro. I hope its nothing more. I have 8000 + miles on that engine, since I installed it, mostly freeway.

i also have a sunpro electric oil gauge....auto meter here i come...motor has over 300 thousand miles on her and it would be a shame if it let go....

A mechanical gauge is much much more accurate.

well i got an auto meter mechanical gauge onher now....and ive got great pressure...teach me to buy the cheaper stuff......

That makes me feel better about my gauge acting like that. Yeah, buying cheap is never a good idea with a gauge, especially an oil pressure gauge...
