if i remember right our oil pump is in the front of the pan correct? if so is there any solution to my problem of NO oil pressure when i'm climbing rock walls and stuff. i would have thought someone would be making a oil pan with some baffles. or maybe there is a different solution that i haven't thought bout.

ideas?

Your oil pan is full of sludge and it's displacing oil.

Or it's just low.

You should have enough oil in the pan to avoid starving the pickup, even with the engine running.

it could be low, didn't check it at the time. but pressure was good on flat pavement. at idle and cruising. wouldn't it be low all around if my level wasn't high enough?

No. Pressure is not the same as level.

maybe you misunderstood me. what i was asking was. if my pressure was good at idle and at cruising RPM's... then wouldn't that mean that my level wasn't low, or at least not low enough to cause zero pressure when wheeling?

Either you are low on oil or there is something wrong with your truck. You should not loose oil pressure at the angles you operate at when rock crawling. I have had my truck at angles so extreme that there was oil seeping through the rings and burning off, yet I still had pressure.

If you are loosing all oil pressure that is a serious problem; and engine can sieze in as little as 1 minute with no oil pressure.
