Hope this is the right forum for this topic. The combination Temperature and Oil Pressure gauge under my dash has got a moderate (drip every couple minutes) oil leak coming from the hose that's connected to the back of it. I'm not sure if this is stock or custom but how can I address the leak?

It's aftermarket not stock. Its cheaper to just to replace the whole thing, they only cost like 20 bucks.

Thanks, I'll take a look where it's hooked up to and what my options for replacement parts are and then post an update if I can't figure it out.

Personally I'd just remove it altogether. Those old school mechanical gauges always leak. If you're dead set on having gauges, replace them with electronic ones so there's no hoses to leak.

I've always been a fan of mechanical gauges... but the down side is they tend to leak.

Most of those gauge sets come with plastic line to plumb them. I always replace the plastic line with copper tubing... much better chance of it sealing and way more durable/heat resistant. Usually comes in a 10 foot roll right by the gauge display at the parts store. Don't try to reuse the ferrules from the plastic line... just buy new ones if the copper line pack doesn't have them with it.

OK folks I found the spot where the oil pressure gauge fits into the engine. It's it's near the cab in the back. There is a small brass(?) fitting that goes into the engine. What do I need to do to remove this and presumably plug the hole where the sensor is?

A. Either replace it with the factory pressure switch, or B. Just use an NPT plug to block the hole. I'm not sure the exact thread size. Or C. If you are going to be putting in new gauges you'll need that hole for the new sensor anyway so just remove the old and install the new.

It's really started to dump oil into my cab on this last trip, so I need to disconnect it right away. I'm poking around on Rock Auto at the moment trying to find a part name for that guy. Know what I should search?

Trim the plastic line at the gauge and buy a new farrell and just fix the leak.
