oil pan gasket

yes, but do yourself a favor and remove the whole engine.

And first VERIFY if it is really the pan gasket that needs attention.. It is rare for them to fail! Mostly oil leaks come from elsewhere. Sometimes the pan bolts get loose and a simple tightening of those bolts will stop the leaking.

okay, i will look to verify while im under there. i want to look for the port to put a oil pressure gauge it. just want to make sure where i read where it was is actually is.

Nope!

It's not under there! You should be able to find it from under the hood. There should be a pipe threaded hole where the present sender is located. Usually that sender is removed and a "Y" pipe is inserted to allow both the old sender and the new sender to function. However if you only wish to use one sender that would be a simple swap.

Been a little while since I seen a 2.9L but IIRC the oil pressure sender is sort of under the power steering bracket on the driver's side threaded into the block. Check the oil level sender also, those tend to leak sometimes.

i went out there and looked and found it. i just plan on using the aftermarket one since i dont think my truck has one anyways. i already put on the temp gauge to make sure i knew what i was doing. i plan on making a 3 gauge pod on the pillar. i picked up a second pillar plastic piece from the junk yard and get a universal pod piece from autozone. What should the truck oil pressure be at.??

Should?

Should idle, hot, at 15 or more. Should run, hot 25 or more. I like to see 20/25 idle, 35 or more run. But it don't take that much to be sucessful.

Heres another gauge location question. Also getting a vacuum gauge. where would you connect the tube? I think i might know but i want some though

Do you have some vacuum taps that are just capped off? If you do, pick the one that's closest to where ever you route the hose.
