I just cleaned the IAC and pulled the intake off to clean it out. I litterally poured out a teaspoon to maybe a tablespoon of oil out of it. Is this excessive blow by or maybe bad PCV valve or something entirely different? It is a 94 ranger 4 cyl 2.3 liter automatic.

does your truck use oil? could be flowing thru the exhaust and egr, always bothered me that when i pull my intake manifold my intake ports are black as a kettle...theoretically since your crankcase breather runs directly into your throttlebody (hose from valve cover to throttlebody) you may be pulling some from there. not too experienced with this situation but thats what i see as to where it is coming from. that or its all the excess k&n oil from your air filter over time lol.

Running a stock air filter. I dont like using oil based air filtration. As far as burning/using oil, no it is level for 3500 miles. No leaks, no burning. Thats why it is mind boggling. Thinking its just bypass flow, but not sure. Im no where near being a mechanic by any means.

thats normal for a truck that age. i wouldnt sweat it.

I decided to try to replace the EGR valve. The truck has 77k miles and the book says replace every 40k. I am assuming the kid who had it never replaced the EGR. Truck still idling rough after the intake clean, and the IAC being cleaned. So PCV and EGR for $65 total will at least help with fuel mileage...

Dang I was gonna suggest the Air filter... lol Cause I had my K&N at an angle and like a tablespoon of oil collected and dripped into the intake box (The PO oiled it WAY too much... i need to clean it anyways..)

i use oil/cotton filtration on my truck with no problems than again i do i service air filters on bikes constantly so i am pretty good at it...lol :icon_thumby: to each their own i just hate spending 15 bux a wack for a new air filter every so often when i can just clean the one i have. i clean mine every 2 or 3 oil changes tho which is probably more often but better to be safe than sorry. (im in town not much dust or dirt road usage, when i do go down one thats the first thing i look at under the hood....)

I would like to run a cold air intake but I CANNOT find one that fits my truck. Its a 1994 4 cyl 2wd automatic. I can find them for newer models, but even google searches have yeilded 0 results. Any thoughts or ideas?

You already have one. Follow the plumbing and see where the air is being drawn in from.
