I have a 90 ford ranger 2.3 the oil dipstick was located on the driver side of motir went to pull dipstick because I just bought truck and the hole tube came out. My question is I know it goes into the but where exactly does it go and where does it bolt too to keep it from moving

Your first post says it's a 90 Ranger. It looks like you have a 97 Ranger. I have a 97 so if you do too. I can tell you the tube goes into a hole in the block just above the oil pan. If you look at this picture of my 97 2.3L you cam see the dip stick tube. There is a tab on the the tube with a hole in it. The tube is held to the side of the air intake manifold between the first and second runners.

If you can't get a bolt to hold it, a quick easy fix is a zip tie.

I do have a 97 but I just purchased 1990 the other day

Same deal, goes in a hole in the block above the pan, held to the intake manifold front outside stud/bolt that holds the upper and lower halves together
