Oil Consumption, Oily Intake

Hello all, i have a 98 with a 4.0 ohv, 140k miles. I bought it off a guy ive since learned was a compulsive liar, so every day i find a new issue on this thing.

It has been consuming about a quart per tank (200-230 miles), but no smoke, even on startup, and no oil on ground/outside of motor. Makes good power, but misses if you push it under 2k rpm, and it idles just a little rough. Gets 18-20mpg all the time, for a 4x4. Anyway, all these signs pointed to intake gaskets (i hope). I got the engine torn down and found alot of oil in the upper intake. The gaskets were all oily, but the pcv seems free, it moves freely when you shake it. Im getting it all back together today, but im afraid im going to find that it is still comsuming after i get it all done. Any ideas what it could be?
