Oil coming out my dipstick

One thing I relized I never checked was how well the sucktion was from my TBI unit that the PCV is hooked to. If there now air being sucked in from there, or very little, that could be my problem, I'll have to check that Friday during my day off work.

I put the PCV from a 400 on mine and I don't smell oil any more....exhaust tip is a little darker though.....I like it!!!!

I havent gotten around to doing this yet, havent had time but im glad to hear that this mod. works. Got pics of the differences between the two?

I did the 400 PCV trick on my 2.8 and the hot oil smell has gone away. I am looking forward to not seeing snot and moisture on my dip stick and no oil in my air cleaner. It mists through the oil fill cap vent just enough to acumulate oil in the bottom of my air cleaner. That was a real nice tip.

I still havent gotten around to doing this yet but during my 2 days off new week I plan on getting alot done to my truck.

Say do you have a part number and the store you got it from?

I got the PCV valve today but looks the same as my old one, Autozone number PCV1223, cant say if it helped out due to fuel line exploded and startd a huge fire under the hood of my truck and melted it with only 5 miles on it and my new fuel set-up, more details in my build thread on that. But was anybody else the same looking or not?

Mine used to snot up quite a bit until I did the valveguide seals and a new pcv it no longer gets snot or blows smoke when you start it all but two of the seals were completely gone. a vacuum guage and compression test will tell you if it is about ready to take a crap but run it till it pukes and have a replacement ready if you plan on keeping it it could be rings, guides or seals or head gasket.

Well finally got to put some highway miles and speed on the ranger with the ford 400 PCV and no oil coming out my dipstick now!!!

Cool I wonder if you need to change it more often with the added air flow I change mine every other oil change. I used to change it only when it stopped ratteling and with the cost of fuel now a days that $2.50 is a wise investment plus it idles alot better.

Does seem to make sence, it is able to breath better (from 280cfm to 350cfm) and before this fuel system set-up, didnt do this on this engine.
