IS there a link or tech page describing what types, brands, weight of oil the majority of 4.0 owners are using?

If not, l would like to get a feel for what everyone is using... when l change my oil it has never been a thing of commitment to one brand or type, just whatever is on sale when it is time to change the oil.

On my last visit to Napa, the guy suggested synthetic and another suggested high mileage. As l said, l have never even looked into these options. l was also told that using different brands can cause "pitting" due to different chemical interactions and varying pH's among the different oils? It seems bunk to me from what l know of chemistry, but is there any truth to this?

It is time for an oil change and l would like to hear what everyone else uses and their thoughts so l can make sure l am on the right page. Thanks:icon_thumby:

Do a search, we have had about 3 oil threads in the last month. You can switch between brands and types as many times as you want, nothing bad will happen. Synthetic is nice, but may not be necessary unless you experience extreme temperatures and/or want longer change intervals. Just pick a 5w-30 in any brand you want and your engine will live a long happy life.

Thanks for the info... what keywords did you use for the search... l cannot find anything.
