Hey guys I have a 1988 Ranger, had the 4 cyl in it with an automatic. the truck is a 2wd and i am replacing all the gauges. I was just wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head what ohm sending unit is in my tank. Thanks for any help

it's either 150 or 75, can't remember when they changed them and can't remember which is the earlier one.

Thats full range of the resistor. can't remember which way it runs. I'll see if it's mentioned in my manual.

according to manual. approx ten ohms should be a full tank and 73 should be an empty tank. That's for an 85, I don't have information for the later trucks and I don't know when they changed the values. Sorry I can't be more help, good luck.

It is from 99 down ford ranger in general (not engine specific at all) is 10ohms full and 73ohms empty i got a 91 that im re-doing had the same prob. Most all chevy is 0/90ohms (summit has a bunch of them DONT BUY THEM!!! WILL NOT WORK) and mustang 67 and lower is same as ranger as far as 99 higher ranger i really couldnt tell you but that dont affect you application. Oh some lincoln is in the 10/73 ohm range not sure which ones though... Hope this helps you!

Oh cant remember but i think auto meter and auto gage is about your only choices on style and brand unless they have come out w/ some thing else, and alot of them say 73 empty/ 8-12 full those will work its hard to find a just "10" for some reason... good luck

I was going to buy that 0-90 one from summit but maybe i won't if it's not going to work....Any ideas where I can get one?

ok i called summit tech line (1-330-630-0240) every guy i talk to says something different when i got all that info the guy that was tellin me sounded like an old time motor head type never skipped a beat didnt have to look nothing up and spilled the beans. now i pick a guage out and call the tech line to double check its gonna fit get some young punk on the phonne that had to look it up and he tryin to tell me its 16/158 i gotta check but i dont even think thats such a thing?yesterday i was at auto zone asked them they were usless today i gotta go to advance got a kid down there thats pretty good w/ his shit ill run it past him, but other wise i got a few days till i start hookin up fuel system tonight ill order the 73/10 range and be the test rat im gettin all my stuff from summit too. i do know 0/90 is chevrolet tho but who knows the only way arond this is get a blazer/s-10 fuel tank an biuld from there?

thanks huntin! I ordered that gauge from summit yesterday, so it should be here early next week and I'll try hooking it up and see what happens...I'll keep you posted

ok i got too many stories, said screw em all found a replacement sender float and gauge to match it they carrie 240 and 33 VDO makes them got them from summit for like 60 bucks just got them in today. its fully adjustable from 6'' to 23'' left and right mount w/ a 180degree sweep. honestly i think its money well spent eliminates all guess work and returning then on to down time cause i been held up now on the build for a week now screwin round w/ something so simple... good luck w/ your rout let me know how it works out ill let you know if i get mine worked out!
