well guys my Explorer OHC has been installed for about a year and has always been dead accurate as far as temp goes...then all the sudden it seems like since winter has started the temp is now WAY off for example it will be like 20 F outside and the OHC will say 97 F...do you think the sensor is bad and just needs replaced?

Unless your wiring has been screwed up in some way, a bad sensor seems like a likely culprit.

thats what i was thinking...wiring hasnt been touched at all. maybe the salt ruined the sensor?

Could be. I'm guessing they're just a thermoresistor and they don't necessarily last forever. Plus, you gotta remember that it wasn't new when you pulled it from the yard, it was probably at least 10-12 years old already. Looks like it's a $12 part (maybe, not sure if I pulled up one), can't expect them all to last forever.

yeah, i have a couple extras sitting in my room...ill eventually swap one in and see if it fixes it. thanks!
