OH NO! Something big fell off my truck!!!

Looks good :icon_thumby:

For some reason I was under the impression you had already done this swap, I guess not lol

84projectFORD: you are more than welcome to the parts but the brakes are complete garbage with about 114,000 miles on them and the spindles have 375,000 miles on them, but you're more than welcome to come by and grab them before they go to the scrap yard...

4x4junkie: yea, you heard about it a long time ago, but I just did it finally.

Now I just need to grab me a driveshaft and its ready to roll. Oh by the way, thats an EB D44 with disk brakes and a 5x4.5 bolt pattern :icon_confused:

BTW, i know the single brake line for the front brakes is cleaner...but dont you think it'd be a little safer to run seperate lines for both sides?

I worry a bit about that trackbar bracket welded straight to the frame like that? wouldnt it be better to plate the frame on side and bottom and bolt through using the steering box bolts and then a few beads? i'd be worried about that bending/ripping the frame with such a small foot print. but hey thats just me

The single brake line is more than fine on the rear of the truck and on thousands of other solid axle trucks out there so i'm not very worried about it, especially when theres a driveshaft in there blocking more of the space. This way it is also away from the springs and any other moving part of the truck.

The trac-bar has a support brace thats not in the that pic that goes from the bolt and over to the engine crossmember, there's no way it's going anywhere unless it pulls the crossmember with it.

looking good, i have allways wanted to build up a 2wd for offroading after seeing yours, now it should inspire me for a future sas

what? i've seen stuff like this happen before...

dad took the 72 chevelle to work one day...

came out to go to lunch and there was a tire underneath the back

spare tire exited the trunk via rust hole. lol

happened to my mom, the cheape steel cable holding the spare up snapped sending the verry large , verry scary man behind her and his car airborn, than she backed ito a telephone pole and broke a taillight leaving work
she shouldnt drive
shes jinxed

o and that is one sexy beast of a truck

haha but it didnt go through the trunk panel tho...

same thing pretty much happened with my 84 CUCV blazer when it slung its drive shaft going down the interstate....bounced around after i rolled over it and landed on the camaro's hood behind me...luckily the guy was cool about it, and said "accidents happen, don't worry about it."....got home in 4 High and had a rag jammed in the back of the tranny.

I have a set of F31 Deavers for the rear of your truck that would be a good excuse to get rid of that block.

PS. Get a real cover and ditch that stupid spyder cage.
