Yeah, the front crankshaft seal is leaking on my '95 3.0L, At first i thought it was the oilpan, so i cleaned it up real nice under there last night, then i drove it this morning and came back home and looked underneath....yup its leaking. It leakes like 3 or 4 drops a day, it sucks though because thats brand new oil leaking out.
Anyone want to tell me how to replace this seal, I heard Its a PITA.

Is there anything i can add to the oil, like engine stop-leak, i kinda dont want to because i heard that oil additives are real bad because they contain certian metals that will chew up the inside of your motor.

A "how to replace the front seal on your 3.0L" post in the tech library would be nice.

Is a 3.0L front seal really any different from any other V6 front seal?

This is in the Haynes book, in detail, with pictures.

Front seals are a PITA, but not nearly as bad as the rear ones.

You DO NOT WANT stop leak in anything. Your oil has several very important functions in your engine (not just lubrication), and you really do not want to screw with that to keep a few drops off the ground. A drip pan is less than $20, as is a new seal. It's not worth making your lifters stick.

Before you go after the seal, make sure the problem isn't a loose crankshaft (deeper problems) or a "groovy" harmonic balancer (VERY easily fixed with a "redi-sleeve").

FYI, the really easy way to tell the difference between the oil pan and front seals is that a leaky front seal will often fling oil around the engine compartment, in the direction of crank rotation. Oil pan leaks just go straight down (and perhaps straight back due to wind).

yeah its def. a front seal, its flinging oil all around the bottom of the engine bay, I think ill just wait until it gets worse.
Ill pick up a Haynes book, sometime next week when i get some cash(damn things are expensive)
