I just got these light for really cheap and i want to put them on my ranger but the the reflector is rusted and i want to fix and don't know how to get them to a mirror finish again ..I was going to get my buddy to powder coat them like a chrome finish or just sand blast them and then polish them and then clear coat them but i am not sure what the best way and if the powder will hold up to the heat and is there a better way???

might be able to sand the rust off and then use a strong metal polish to bring the shine back

Also do they make them in 100watts or 130 watts???
Does anyone have pics of this done and how do they work offroad and how do they look???

Brass brush and metal polish. Takes a little time but I've made terrible looking old school chrome bike rims look new again with just a little elbow grease.

I recommend Autosol for a metal polish. make sure you get most of the big stuff off first or your wasting your time.

Also considering how cheap you can pickup some decent lights similar to those at stores that sell tractor lights and such it may not be even worth your time to polish those up.

Sealed Beam will not be cheap and you should be able to find then in 55 to 100 watt.You will end up with a lot better light.
Sand the case down and paint them black.

Cheap way out would be sand the reflector and paint it with high heat silver.

hey if i put chrome vinyl for a reflector in my 100watts light do you think the vinyl will hold up to the heat???

I agree that you would be better off getting new cheap lights at a tractor supply. But high temp silver would be the way to go if you still want to poor boy the ones you got.

This is how I would fix these, first question; is the lenses glass and are they cracked? if your answer yes and no, this is what I would do.

I would find two 7" sealed beams somewhere for "cheap" get a diamond abrasive wheel, cut off the outside lens and jerry-rig it into your off road lamps.

..you just need the reflector bowl not the lenses on the sealed beams, some epoxy to bond the reflector to the off road clear lenses. Probably can do this for under $10.

I was goin to try glue aluminum foil in place of the reflector or try to polish them which sounds like the most productive and seam like it will produce the best results.... The glass is not broke on any of them and i am doin this on a budget of $10 for all four lights!!!!

man I dunno, the reflector is VERY critical to the output, the way sealed beams work is they paint them on the OUTSIDE, and the smooth glass creates the reflective surface. I really don't think aluminum foil is going to work,you got several obstacles:

Even distribution of adhesive.
Quick deterioration of the foil/glue (from the heat)
Getting all the wrinkles out of the foil.

BUT I think you can do it, read this article about solar cooking, check out those plans, I think this can be done!
