Off Road trailer

I want to build an off road trailer on the 1/4 T jeep trailer frame I've had sitting around. It has an after market, no suspension axle so I will have to add springs and shackles. No box. I'll stretch the tongue so I won't bend the 1/4 s on our Ranger or Explorer (been there, done that when jack knifing and not paying attention while backing). Any thoughts or plans I can "steal"?

I remember seeing a thread about this same subject but can't find it. One of the thoughts was to have a swivel at the hitch. There are some websites based in australia that have some good threads, I didn't save links tho.

Whtever you do, the key thing to mod is the hitch. For any range of movement, you want a pintle hitch. There's another type of pin hitch buti don't know what its called. Go to youtube and search offroad camping trailer. There's lots of good ideas .

Mines super simple right now, flat trailer, all steel stock with a rebar floor and 33's.

There's always a multi-axis hitch, like the max coupler or the lock-and-roll, but I prefer a good old pintle hitch.
