i have 4 55watt off road lights i know the wire i have is big enough to handle all 4 i was wondering what kind of a toggle switch i need auto zone has a few 20 amp one and then there is a 50amp but its not to nice looking any thought dont really want to run another wire and switch for the lights would rather all be on one

your lights are using about 5 amps each so your 20 amp switch should be ok. just make sure you put fuses inline and also use relays as that will take much of the load off the switch and send the power right to the lights. when you're doing all this, just remember:
watts divided by volts = amps. that will help you decide what you need for wiring size, fuses, relays, switches, etc.

If you are wiring it properly by using a relay, the amperage on the switch doesn't matter too much because it would just be a trigger. I would strongly suggest you use a relay. A 30 amp relay should work great for you.

go to a napa store and get a tg7000w toggle swich and an inline fuse. thats what i used on my lights
