All,
I have noticed over the last few days my 87 is making a sound like a groaning power steering pump but that is not the cause of the sound. It is happening in 2 or 4 wdr and any gear in the tranny (A4LD) and at any speed right up until the truck stops. As far as I can tell the sound does not increase with speed. The fluid level is good and I have not ever had a problem from the tranny other than steady fluid loss from the cooler. I did recently swap in a D35 and BW1354 and filled them to the correct levels and rechecked them after driving a week and there has been no leaks from them so I am thinking it's not them. Of all the cars/trucks I've owned I've never had an auto, or manual for that matter, go out on me, not counting the test drive on my 88 BII. Oh yeah I put in all new bearings and seals when I did the D35 install and used only Timkin bearings/races. Thanks in advance if you guys can point me in a good direction.
