I have a 2000 explorer 4.0 ohv in my ranger. What all would it take to convert my engine to obdI??? I know obviously engine harness and ecu, prolly intake manifold? what about crank sensors and stuff like that??

Why in the world would you want to do that? You are a "ford tech", or so you claim, but you are seriously considering dumping diag capability to gain, what again?

Myself I would love to from OBDI to OBDII

The ranger that the 4.0 is in is what I race with off road. The 2000 ecu has a revlimiter around 4200 which needless to say sucks for racing. I have access to a 1st gen explorer ecu intake harness etc for cheap that doesn't have a rev limiter or if it does its real high because when we started it the cruise control servo was stuck wide open and as soon as it started it buried the tach past 6000. Yes I know I can buy a programmer for mine but that is also expensive and I can obd1 swap it on the cheap. I am not worried about diagnosing anything and if I do I have the tools to diagnose obd1 as well they are not hard at all.

That makes more sense.

Yeah, harness, computer, the basics.

yea sorry I didn't explain it clearly. another reason is the obd1 4.0 are stupid simple and require very little to make run for racing. less harness sensors etc= less weight up front. So there is no difference in the blocks or crank sensors?? should be able to swap harness ecu and intake manifold and call it done?
