you got OBD1, some 95s had OBD2, my 95 taurus was OBD2 and Satan's motorhome (1995 ford E350) is OBD2 but mosty 96 and up.
 
by tracking your mileage at every fill up, write down the miles from fill up to fill up and divide the mileage by the number of gallons. that is about as accurate as you will get in actual fuel usage.
 
i fill up about once a month. and its hard to keep the same driving habit the entire time (but if i could see my mileage as its happening would help)
 
get a vacuum gauge, keep it in the green
 
wouldnt that change with how open my throttle is. if i accelerate to slowly (besides being unsafe) wont lugging the engine get worse mileage. ive also heard keeping the engine around 3k for better mileage(because of peak tourqe)

P.S.its an auto
 
then get a tach and keep it around peak torque. there is no way you can monitor your mileage electronically with OBD1 on your truck with out major computer mods.

keep it at peak torque at every speed. I like to stay just just above peak torque. my big rigs (I will use my 60 series detroits for this example) peak at 1400 RPMs. I run them about 1600.

more RPM doesn't always mean more gas, if you keep the engine between peak torque and the RPM at which torque and horsepower intersect then you have a happy engine, takes less effort to move the truck. Lugging is bad in a gas engine.

you can't hurt that 3.0L, its bullet proof.
 
thanks, my neighbors wont like this my exhaust is fairly loud. (borla something or another dual side swept; came with the truck) 3.0 is bulit proof, a4ld not so much

yeah, A4LD bad, but you know what, I never had problems with the one from my blue 91 explorer, it was the tan 92 that had the transmission problems.
