2006 ranger 5spd 3.0. I've got multiple cylinders missing, feels like a couple or more are kicking out at different times. Check engine light is flashing when its running bad, but doesn't stay on like my other vehicles.

I got it home and ran my code reader on it but the scanner says that it will not connect to the truck...

I've used this scanner before on my ranger with good success every time.

Anyone know if there is a fuse for the reader port? any other ideas?

They couldn't read my codes. I replaced fuses and it was fine. But my cig lighter doesn't work. I assume it shorted and blew fuse for both since they are on same fuse. I'm gonna get a new cig lighter from a ranger or expo n hook it up n see what happens. If you never had a problem with that reader just change fuse and give it another try.

Bad fuse. Stupid.....

Anyway, Checked the compression, 150 across the board, so the service letter doesn't apply (yet)

Cylinder 3 misfire.
