I've been going through a phase where my son's truck would start fine, idle decent, but upon acceleration it would stall. It stuttered under midrange acceleration, but if you slammed it to the floor, it would kickdown and run like a scalded ape. Wide open throttle was the only thing that made it driveable.

After checking fuel pressure, swapping TFI modules, computers and just about every sensor with a spare (except the Air Charge Temp sensor and o2 sensor) I had run out of options.

Today I got it on a lift and installed a new o2 sensor. It ran smoother and better than it has in years. I know most of the sensors have an effect on the fuel/air mixture, but I had no idea this sensor had such a dominant influence on driveability. Maybe not in all cases, but for me it cured a lot of headaches! Thanks for all the help and suggestions along the way.

The O2 sensor is basically the primary A/F input on that system.
