My 4.0 cracked a head I am in the process of swapping another one in. I got 239,000 miles out of this engine can't complain.

New engine is bolted it
Tonight It's time to start hooking up wires and lines. The block and pistons were in very good condittight bearings even seemed tight. The 4.0 is less than stellar when it comes to Power or Fuel numbers. However this engine convinced me that these are some of the most durable engines on the road.
Next enging will be a 5.0 maybe this simmer.

I should have went to the tech pages before installation of the motor. I would have saved some back tracking and would be driving today. O well I will know much more next time.

Stumped
Everything is hooked up but I keep blowling EEC fuzes. I am considering pulling my hair out just before I jump off a cliff.

Rewiring your swap from here would be a nightmare. HOWEVER.. blowing fuses indicates a direct short to ground in almost every instance. I have seen plugs accidently installed backwards or FORCED into the wrong location before.
As for actual grounds there has NEVER been too many grounds. If there is any doubt..EVER.. add a couple more!

ALSO when swapping engines it is common to SQUASH a wire that was unseen at the time. So be alook'n for a flat place on a wire that might have been accidently mashed during the install..

I do like the 15's in your sig.. I've got a 10X40X50 sniperscope on mine.. 1500 yards is like inside the same room.. Was out West a few weeks ago and with a spotter was able to drill a 55 gal barrel at 1200.. and not a very good rest at that.
I'm not much for spraying the flowers, but that far off stuff really feels good..
Brings a smile to my pretty face everytime.

thanks for the advice

To be quite honest I have considered putting a couple rounds from my 44 mag. Super Red Hawk into this freaking engine. With the Simmons I am pretty good at 150 yards. I doubt it would help the truck any but it would make me feel better. Maybe when I get it running. I will put a few in the old block.

Well
I finished swapping in a different engine J.Y special also swapped in a J.Y.transmission. this was the first time I have ever done either. I would never have gotten this done without the tech page and sever PMs from some members here on Ranger Station.
I have learned a great deal from this experience.
Thanks for all the advice Jim
