THAT is a "Neutral Safety Switch" and your M5OD-R1 doesn't have one, because THAT is the switch for an Automatic.

an M5OD-R1 has the similarly named "Neutral SENSING Switch" which only detects neutral for idle strategy and in point of face if you left the SENSING switch disconnected you'd only ever notice if you had a faulty/sticky IAC.

You understood him enough to answer?

serious i was trying to make sense of what this guy was trying to say and i don't understand what he is saying.....

Well if you would take a look at his avatar...

Not a good enough excuse. That wasn't written in a comprehensible manner.

Irokranger93, type where we can understand it or expect to get very VERY few helpful answers.

Oh, and I'd like to ask you to please change your avatar. It's sending the wrong message about you to most of this forum.

This switch is NOT necissary if you you'd just need to rob the shorting bar out of the connector for it in any Gen2 Ranger.Bronco2/Explorer with an AUTO trans (the wiring harness is the sam on both auto and manual)

MY truck has a 5sp trans but I have the jumper in the clutch multifunction Switch, why? because ocassionally I want to run the starter with the truck in gear.

Like when I'm unable to release the clutch due to a clutch actuation failure
(like when the clutch hydraulics take a shit)

I always wondered about that, my truck doesn't require the clutch pedal pushed for the starter to crank. I guess the guy who owned it before me bypassed the sensor somehow.

I've thought of that.

Could be. I know the late 90s 'Yotas had a button to bypass it, always wondered why you'd want one.
