trying to fit a ford np208 in my ranger. The case wont fit due to framerail clearance issues. What is the best way to make it fit?

You will see a tab on the driver side of the case. You need to cut that tab off and any others that will be in the way. Depending on how you have you engine placed and transmission crossmember you may need to shave the lower edge of the frame, locate the trans on the crossmember to the pass side a bit or a combination of both. It is a decently tight fit but it does fit, barely. If you feel that isn't the route for you the NP 205 is a bit smaller physically but about twice as heavy. That case will fit no problem, the 208 fits as well, you just need to get a little creative.

thx for the tips. Its almost about to fit. I grinded off a tab and that helped. Notched the frame out alittle bit and i just gotta shave off the edge more. It should fit.

Its a little tight but much better than trying to fit a 1356. Good work.

out of curiosity, can i see some pictures? im going the same route. The 208 is a beast and id like to use it (since it was free) but i feel the front driveshaft will hit the frame.

i dont have any pics of my old setup. I do remember having to trim the frame rail lip quite a bit to make the 208 fit. Also had to cut off some of the case itself, the metal lugs that stick out the side. The 208 is a beast case. If i did it all over again id go with a smaller case to avoid having to cut everything up to make fit.

In the grand scheme of things the NP-208 isn't THAT big of a t-case... T-cases that are as strong with a decent creeper and smaller size are not that common.
