I recently used 4wd for the first time in awhile and had it in 4hi for quite a while doing just fine, then all of a sudden it was like i was in neutral. I have an Automatic and was in drive, then as the revs fall it sounds like a high pitch metal on metal grinding noise until there are no parts moving. But I had to crawl under take shift motor off and manually put it in 2hi for the truck to be able to move forward. The fluid level was ok. I have a 02 FX4 with only 34,000 miles so i dont think its shot. Any help would be great.
