... for this question. I'm relatively new here, so bear with me, please.
I'm in the market for a Ranger. I had an F150 until a drunk biker hit it head on while my wife was driving. Been truckless ever since.
There's a dealer nearby who hasa 2000 with a sticker price of $6995. Is that a good price? I was more in the maket of $1500-2000, but if I get a warranty it may be worth it.
So what's the concensus of opinion?
Thanks

In my opinion that's a pretty good deal. Where I live 2000-2002 Rangers are in the $8000-$10,000 range depending on if it is 2wd or 4wd. What are the details on it?

It's an XLT4X4 w/ Extended cab, power door locks, power windows, tilt , and alloy wheels. Oh, and it's red and looks clean.
Are there trouble spots I should be aware of? I don't want to get burned.

I got my 00 step side XLT for 8 G's. But that was in the middle of winter so they jacked the prices way up for a 4x4

Sorry, that's all I know right now. I hope to see it in 'person' tomorrow. I'll get what specifics I can then.

You might want to look around some more. With the economy the way it is, there are some real deals out there. Just before thanksgiving, I bought (from a dealer)a 2003 XLT supercab 3.0 2WD, one owner, 56K miles, clean, no rust or dents, only scratches were on tailgate, had everything on it except power windows and door locks, good carfax, serviced regularly at dealer for $5500. Wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but the price was right.

Yeah, keep looking. I don't remember where this member is from, but he just got a 99 Ranger with only 50k-ish miles, 2WD for only $5,000. So make sure you keep looking and don't jump at the first Ranger you see (like I did).

I've got one for sale...

JSpafford, while I like the parts of Ohio I've been to, it's a bit of a haul from NH. Thanks anyway!

Unfortunately, my work has kept me out straight and I haven't had time to see this truck in person, yet. I do appreciate the advice and will keep my eyes open. I rpomise not to let my eagerness get the better of me- been burned too many times that way.
