About how many volts would a 2007 Ranger 3.0L alternator crank out? Or... How do I find this out? Thanks guys.

nah, voltage. i want to make sure i'm getting at least 12 volts to my amplifiers. 14 volts would be nicer though.

upon further research it seems that at least 13-14 volts is common for newer vehicles. good to know. thanks man.

just an fyi you have to have 12v on the system, alot of sensors work on voltage, which is why you cant pop the clutch on new manuals when the battery is dead. as far as needing it for your amps. your alt. will work over time to keep up with the load, you put on it. to much and it wont work, more then it likes will cause you to start going thur alts

Hence where capacitors come into play. Gives that extra bump of juice to take load off the alt when it see's a heavier than normal load from an amplifier.
