Not only did I live, I walked away with just scratches.

where the tracks end in the one picture is where my tracks end until my truck stopped. I think I only flipped over once, but then again, I had my eyes closed, so I don't know if I went down the bank backwords and flipped over backwords either. I closed my eyes because honestly, I didn't want to see what I was about to hit, I think thats what saved my life, I was "limp" and absorbed more of the impact then if I saw it coming.

As for a truck, one of the guys at work called me and he said he'd sell me his truck that he doesn't use often, for $1000. Its a 1991 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2 automatic, extended cab short box, with only 250 000km on it. In my ranger I wanted an extended cab, got the standard, in this I wanted the manual shift, got the auto, I can't win, lol. I guess this is getting close to the end of my time on this side as a full time user, but I will still keep in touch and help where and when I can. I've met a lot of good people on this forum, and I would still like to keep in touch, and be included in any meets in the Calgary area, even if I'm not a full fledged Ranger driver anymore.

That is really a damned shame about your truck, Shoeboy. You really put a lot in it, and it was definitely one of the sharpest Rangers around.

The good thing, and the main thing, is that you're basically OK, and that no one was with you.

It's inexcusable that the big rig didn't stop. The vast majority of those drivers are among the best people on the road. That guy was just one of the few asshats that show up in any profession, or any walk of life. Maybe take comfort in one of life's general rules, that "what goes around comes around"; he'll get his some day. Karma's a bitch.

No need to bail on us, no matter what you drive next. Heal well, and take care.

glad ur ok, suckks about ur rig. get well soon.why not start looking for another ranger?

Looks like you'll be doing right handed flipoffs for a while. Seems appropriate.

That's an amazing wreck to walk away from. It's obvious it hit a tree, and I don't see where your head could have been missed by the roof.

Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky.

Glad you're OK.

Damn......

Go light some candles. Then buy a lottery ticket to make sure you've got both bases covered. Glad to see you made it through that.

I'm just going to keep this Dakota for a wile, but I will still keep an eye open for a Ranger. I will probably buy a new Ranger when I move to BC in a few years.

Thank God you're ok, that is a nasty wreck. That truck driver is a piece of crap...didn't even stop...w0w! For all he or she knew you were dead.

Yeah can't pass a good deal on a truck like that...I'd buy it too, even better if it's 4x4. :)

You are very lucky, I don't think I would have came out so well. If I stretch I can touch the roof of my truck with my head in my std cab Ranger... without it caved in. I don't think I would fit in there at all after it was rolled like yours. Major reason I went with a bigger truck for a dd was so I had more room for my 6'-3" self if something happened. If the streets are bad anymore the Ranger stays home, I don't want to wreck it or (and this is pretty petty) feed the rust with more salt.

The big thing in winter is you can't be afraid to just to slow down and expect the unexpected.:clapping:

Ya, the Dakota is 2wd, and the reason I wasn't hitting the brakes was because I knew the road was wet and I didn't know if it was black ice or if it was just water, I shifted into neutral and was just going to glide to slow down, but that didn't seem to work out for me, I would have been fine if the semi wasn't there. I didn't want to hit the brakes, and I for sure didn't want to hit the gas. Ya, I'm not to short myself, and my head would hit the roof too if I stretched, I had a few inches left between my roof and my head, the passenger side was just flat, I have no idea how I'm still alive.

when i read your thread title and saw your name under it i hoped i wasnt gonna see the pics that i did...thats a shame, that was a damn good looking truck. glad to hear you are okay. did you go steal your tail lights back out of it or can i go get them??

FYI, never put it in neutral because then you have even less control of the vehicle. Kinda makes me want another in-cab cage.

Glad you're OK. It always sucks to hear that someone got into a wreck, but good to hear that they're alive. Sucks about your truck man, my condolences...May She Rest in Peace.

rest up and get well. i ope u have a speedy recovery

i am so sorry dude.. it was such a nice truck, and the new paint..... :bawling:

as with everyone else, i'm glad you're ok.. again, so sorry about the truck

DAANG Shoeboy! Gunna start callin ya Iceskate. I am really glad you came through that one reasonably intact. Something to think about if it was a corporate truck there is a good possibility it has full GPS tracking data. If so it can pinpoint the exact location, ground speed, engine rpm, braking ect at given time. Either you, your attorney or insurance group should have been all over this aspect from the start, realizing no doubt it shook you up. Look into it man, again glad you survived it and have a great Thanksgiving holiday bro. :icon_thumby:
