not getting any gas to the motor after changing sending unit

Fx2prerunner brought me out a new sending unit today for my 94 ranger 3.0. he gave me one from a 95 4.0, autozone supplys the same part numbers for both peices. anyways i put it in today and she still wont start, i pressed on the valve on the fuel rail and theres no gas squirting out. any ideas?

yes it makes a big ass noise when i turn the key

unhook the fuel line before the filter and see if anything comes out. If yes, take the filter out, plug it back into the rear line and try again. See what you get. If nothing, get a filter.

funny thing. the plug in is missing on my wires for the sending unit so its just the wires there but it still has the peices on the ends of the wires to connect it, but each wire is individual, if that makes sense, so i just slapped on the wires on to the little posts there on the sending unit and i could hear it kick in when i turned the key but no start, so i took off the lines and turned the key and looked to see if any gas came out through, and it didnt so i just re arranged the wires a few times and then it worked lol

Yea they are funny that way. Crossed wires on a DC circuit will run the motor backwards. Sounds like that’s what it was.
