Northern Michigan weekend trip

Went up north to the Higgins Lake area for the weekend. My family recently bought a house up there with a couple of garages on the property. I took my snowmobiles up there to store til winter. Having them up there is a great since I don't have my own trailer and was having to borrow each time I went up north. Did some fishing on Saturday put didn't catch anything so we went exploring instead.

The Cut River.

Couple miles back into the woods. Got to the bottom of the hill and the path looped back through the trees to the power lines.

Trail V-ed off in a different direction. It dead-ended back at the Cut River in the middle of nowhere.

Beaver were here.

They had a path where they were dragging wood to the water. So I followed it down.

Leaving, I saw this campsite. Anyone know what this stuff is?

I don't think it was but maybe. I got it used from an auto auction four years ago. Bought it from a Ford Dealer in the Grand Rapids area that got it in on a trade. Thanks.

you drove right past me. shits usually covered in snow by now

Good pics.....now THAT'S why folks should keep their camraaaa in their truck!!!!!!

Thanks guys. I'll continue to update this thread with more pictures each time I go up there. I'd like to do some snow-wheeling/snowmobiling and a bunch of ice fishing this winter.

Where'd you see me Bobby?

Looks like some kind of lean-to shelter someone tried to make.

I am guessing deer blind? they would lean pine boughs against it?

hey guys! New here, just came across this thread. Too funny, I have fished the "cut river" about 2000ft from where it opens up into marl lake. (the lake you could drive a big lifted 4x4 across. LOL.
