Wanted feeler: early 2000s (2003) 4 cylinder engine, northern california

I am only familiar with interchange for my 96 so my knowledge ends at that generation in 97 but this is for a friend's 2003. I believe the displacement is 2.3 as well, but its the 4 banger at any rate. Rod or crank is bent and need preferrably a running longblock.
Looking from Fresno to Yuba city as far as distance, and bay area as well. Located in Stockton area between all of that.

Have you tried the wrecking yards in Rancho Cordova? There are about 20 of them there. All Ford Parts, Planet Auto, All American, etc.
