Bleeding the coolant system of air the other day and noticed this.
One strange thing I noticed is that when running the engine with the radiator cap off, the coolant level in the radiator seems to change greatly after it is shut down. Namely that the coolant will rise greatly after the engine has been shut off, I realize some is normal expansion but is like 4 inches difference in the radiator coolant level normal.
Further, when revving the engine with the cap off the coolant drops like 5-6 inches and when returned to idle it goes back up to where it was previously. Is this normal?
Thanks,
Max
