Been starring at the ranger. I know I haven't been wheeling much lately but it's really starting to piss me off knowing I can't if the opportunity comes. Don't know how much more of this I can take.

alright guys here is the deal. he is going to knock 1% off for each of us that order. he can ship individually. so if we get 2 guys to order we get 2% off, 10 guys 10% and so forth. all the way up to 15% off. he is also bumping up the prices by 100 bucks but will honor the 599 for the group buy. we have till march 15th to get people to commit. lets start recruiting. Im not sure where to post up on the main forum about this. lets get to asking around tho. it works out for us if we get others in on it.

Well BLM has suspended all 2014 Vorra races. I'm so pissed.. ****ing govt bureaucrats. Vorra makes yerington and all the other little towns tons of money when the race teams come in.

Ok so when I ranted earlier I hadn't heard the whole story. Blm by extension did suspend all 2014 races. In 2013 we raced across a private land owner's land with his permission. It was the last time he would ever give permission and we knew this. Knowing this we applied for a 1.5-2 mile extension in the course (yerignton), blm sent a response saying it wasn't worth their time to even review the course update. Thus canceling yerington 2014, being the biggest of the yearly Vorra races, owner's decided to shut down the rest of the season.

so hopefully today or tomorrow Im going to go look at another ranger. 2wd 95 2.3l 5 spd. its got a 4 inch lift and some like 30 or 31s on it. my dilemma is this... its already lifted so do I do a cheap long travel set up on it or do I slam it? its going to be my commuter truck and a lil something to take my motos into the hills when I get free time. oh yeah and I forgot to mention I have a set of fiberglass fenders and my tube bumper I could slap on it if I go long travel lol

OK, as you all know my trany went out again and the ranger sits till I find the time to do the swap. And ya'll also voted that I get new tow rig instead of upgrade the ranger suspension some more. Well... Now that the trany is out I can't afford neither a tow rig or a suspension upgrade. I did however fall across a 98 explorer 5.0 for $600.

Two questions... should I pick up the explorer for a DD and then do the motor swap when I have time? Or say **** it and buy a little 2wd ranger for a DD. My ranger (I named him Hank) Just isn't a DD anymore. Especially now that it's F***ing BROKEN! Hank and I have a love hate relationship.

How about you use the explorer as a dd and your tow rig? Put a man trans in hank and all will be good!

Unless you for sure want to do the swap, I'd lean away from the explorer as a dd. I had one for a bit and it was cool, but the awd really chews up tires and eats gas. Idk. Fwiw

My wife has an v8 AWD 01 explorer. Around town we get about 11 mpg. On the highway we get around 17. Best tank ever was low 19 and that was going across Indiana Illinois and Iowa where it was flat as a pancake with ethanol free gas.

It gets the same mileage as my stock 04 z71 halfton silverado with a 5.3.
