Nor Cal chat thread

Gas mileage is not an issue since I don't have to commute to work but one day a week. I also have the wife's car (good gas mileage). I just need something to drive to the shop and to the parts store for a little while till I get enough money up again to get a tow rig. The exploder would NOT be a good tow rig. I tend to change my mind a lot so who knows what I'll end up doing.

get the ex. swap in a new tcase and your good. you cant beat $600.

i finally got a tow rig

96 f250 psd 4 inch lift.
i just got a d60 front. should i put it under the ranger or replace the worn out front end under the f250 with 340,000 miles on it?

60s are made to go under rangers. you dont need 4x4 in the 250.

Throw the 60 in the ranger and the 44 in the 250.

My tranny and all the parts for the swap will be arriving at the shop on thursday and then the fun begins. As for the exploder, JUNK! Fortunately I might just have enough money left over to by a small 2wd ranger or some kind of mini truck to cruz around instead of Hank. Although with 5speed manual in him I might not want to drive any other truck.

If anyone is interested I spotted a M50D R2 in the Fresno pick n pull.

Wake the **** up norcal. I'm pickin up the d60 this week

Sweet! How long till you should have it in?

anyone have any clue how i can narrow this down to why its not running? if its something like a dead fuel pump i kinda wanna snag it for a new daily.

Coil. feul pump, Feul filter, Cap or rotor. If the exhaust smells of gas then you can rule out feul filter or pump. Then check cap an rotor for carbon build up. Make sure the rotor moves when car is turned over. If all that checks out then its probably the coil. Also don't forget about the M.A.F sensor. sometimes they can get dirty and make the car not run.

Now my rant. Last week I order my trany and all the parts I would need to do my swap. Down to the cupholders at the bottom of the shifter. After a week of hastle between credit card problems and the millions of phone calls to take care of it. They sent me a 2wd automatic transmission... WHAT THE FAWK. Not even close to what I ordered. Ok rant is over thanks for reading.

P.S. congrats on the 60 Wes.

Are those Toyota axles? I think you need some Rockwell axles dude.

yee wes, get that shit in there now.

I got a mini ranger a week ago, gotta find a drop kit and some cobra wheels. aaaaand a hurst shifter.

Hey guys, did you know that when two people kiss it creates a really long tube with an asshole on both ends... Just thought I would share that interesting fact. Happy Sunday!

i really need some help though. i keep throwing codes.

The 2 normal ones that show are P0300 random cylinder misfire, P0316 misfire on startup (first 1000 revs), and the 2 new ones are P0303 fault cylinder D (hate when I have a faulty D, lol), and P0304 fault cylinder E. It runs fine, normal idle. But on random start-ups I get a grinding noise almost as it first fires up. Not very long. Missing teeth from my ring gear possibly? I think it's the starter for 2 reasons.. 1 being that when my fuel pump was going out I ran it like that for months, taking 3-4 cranks each time to start it. Wearing the starter out. Reason 2 is that the oil leak leaks down onto the starter. could this be the 3.0 camshaft sync issue thats common on the vulcans? bad throttle position sensor?

I would say cam syncro. But it should throw a cam sensor code. The sensor itself is cheap just replace it.

I picked up another v8 today out of a 2000 explorer 2wd. Since its a 2wd I'm looking for a 98 2wd ranger so I can morgan it out.
