It's unique. Why do what every one else is doing? Play with something different. The cost is substantially lower. If you've already got springs then you can build everything else cheaper than buying all the 3,4 link Heims and DOM.

Dont you still have to link it?

Yeah you can go 2, 3 or 4 link.
2 link is sufficient but 4 is stronger.
You do have to run a track bar still.
I haven't done it but I looked into it a couple years ago. I was thinking about doing it to a courier project I was building.

I roughly estimated the prices when I looked at it to be:
Heims or Johnny joints are $50+ ea. You'd need 3-5 for a 2 link depending on how you decide to build it. You'd need 6 for a 3 link and 8 for a 4 link. Plus coils which start at 300 ish.
Not counting the tubing or labor:
2-link with epileptic leaf 250ish
2-link with coils 550ish
3-link with coils 600ish
4-link with coils 700ish

hey guys does anyone have or know were i can get a good one piece ranger drive line for a 4.0 mt 4wd with explorer 8.8 i belive its 98 and newer super cab drive lines that will work

Talk to morgan (2004xlmiller) I left one in the back of the explorer I gave him. It has a small vibration over 60 but it already has the yoke for a ex 8.8

exploder ended up paying off a speeding ticket i had wes.. thanks again. i kicked myself this morning when i found cut and turned ttb dana 35 gear for sale cheap. :(

Vorra night race this weekend in Fallon!

A buddy of mine is goin but I didn't have the cash to go. But I heard the big wig TT racers are gonna be there in August sometime.

They were there over the weekend for the Reno 500

Another gear question. Im having major problems with the 8.8. I am having a backlash variation from 7thou to 14 thou, so I checked run out, and it looks like I have just under 7 thou variation there too. I checked the carrier and it looks to be dead on. This would lead me to believe the ring gear was on crooked but it was a very tight fit so I dont really see how it could be... idk really what to do at this point

Did you heat up the ring gear or put the carrier in the freezer before you put them together?

Talked to someone at parts Mike and he said he would run it if the pattern was good. The pattern is kinda good but it is offset heel to toe, which could be bad because I had to grind down one tooth for the cross pin...

if u heated the ring gear you may have warped it also check to make sure there no dirt or grime in the carrier were ring gear bolts can cause that issue and of course the parts guy tells you to run it he just wants you to blow the diff when you go wheeling so you will buy parts from him later i definitely would atleast check to make sure the ring gears not warped

any body need any explorer parts may have what you need just tore down a 92 also have a 94 limited explorer if interested its a complete vehicle
