5.0 or 4.0 in them?

if u heated the ring gear you may have warped it also check to make sure there no dirt or grime in the carrier were ring gear bolts can cause that issue and of course the parts guy tells you to run it he just wants you to blow the diff when you go wheeling so you will buy parts from him later i definitely would atleast check to make sure the ring gears not warped

I heated the ring gear, but not much over probably 150. 200F MAX. about 30 seconds after I heated it, I was able to grab it with my hand, just not for more than a few seconds. I was also very even with the heat, and didn't apply it too directly to it. There is no axial runout, only lateral (I think I have those right), so I think that rules out dirt against the carrier. At least against the flange that the ring gear bolts go thru. I was also anal with my torque pattern, and with doing even increments of torque, so I shouldn't have warped it that way (confirmed by lack of axial run out). I played with backlash and pinion depth for about 4-5 hours, and the spread of backlash was not constant. sometimes I would have 4-6 or 5-7thou, but if I got up to like 7 or 8, I would have a 7 thou spread...
Right now I have it set at 8-15thou on backlash, which is within spec, its just at the ends of the spec (spec is 8-16 IIRC)

if its in spec run it then i wasnt sure of specs of top of my head but u should post a pic of the pattern

the limited is a 4.0 so was the 92 but it was been pretty well stripped was a welded 7.5 but missing part off all pinion teeth lol and no motor plus the 7.5 is wielded in to truck with steel angle iron i am just trying to get rid of it has some interior pieces but the limited is 100 percent complete if some one doesn't want to but the whole thing i might just rip it apart to give it a good though cleaning and inspection then sell it

i have a 8.8 from evans parts truck sitting in my patio at the apartment, 3.73s ls, drums have been removed cause i used it for mock up. just want it gone now, free.99! come get it asap. ill throw in some stang calipers for it.

They look like eb duff lift coils?

Wild horses 5.5 inch rock crawlers. They are made by deaver I'm pretty sure the duffs are to so there probably the same but the wh springs are cheaper

Just swapped out my coils last night. I bought 3.5" eb coils from toms bronco products. They're close to 2/3 the diameter and way softer. She sets a lil lower now which is ok with me. I was just wanting a smoother ride. Gotta make a new track arm mount before I can test drive it though.
