I recently had my 2.9 liter v-6 rebuilt. Since then, the fuel injectors seem to be clicking more loudly than normal. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix that? I know it is not the engine making the sound.

:shok:

Clicking injectors?? First I've heard of that. You sure it's not the valves? Maybe something wasn't installed correctly when it was put back together...

It's simple, now that the 2.9 isn't ticking as much you can hear the injectors firing now:D

And driveability issues?

It seems to be running fine; just that extra ticking sound. I know the 2.9 injectors are known for being noisy. They seem a little louder than before. I was wondering if it would hurt to put injector cleaner in the tank. It couldn't harm anything could it? Even if the injectors were really cruddy. Mine has a little over 126,000 original miles.

Figured it out

I found out that the donut gasket where the exhaust is coupled to the manifold was leaking. Got that tightened up and it runs like new. :yahoo:

Sure, blame the injectors for your exhaust leak. Good job dude.

At least you figured it out.
