I searched all morning for the answer I needed, couldn't find it. To start im driving a 2000 Ranger 3.0 4x4 5spd. Last night I was driving around, as I would let the clutch out in first or in reverse I would notice this ticking noise(sounded like a fan blade hit something). I pulled into a parking lot and and found that my resevoir had gone dry- i was aware i had a slight leak but i had never run dry before. Can someone tell me what I may have done or how I can fix my problem?

Fill up your reservoir and bleed the clutch for starters.

As for the sound...does it make the noise with the pedal pushed down or with your foot off the pedal?

Does it always do it?
While driving?
Get louder when speed increases?
Can you hear the noise when in neutral, foot off the clutch?

Yea i filled it last night. Not 100% on how to bleed it. The sound just started i guess once the resevoir went dry and got air in it. I only notice it at a dead stop while im letting the clutch out, once im moving i dont hear it at all nor when im going to 2nd 3rd so on

Ok, to me that makes it sound like the throwout bearing/clutch release bearing is breaking up

It's hard to say without listening to it
