as i understand it, the throwout bearing is constantly "running" no matter if the clutch pedal is pushed in or fully released, so what would (possibly) be the noise im hearing when i push the clutch in that sounds like a bad bearing? i was thinking it was the throwout bearing (before i started doing some reading here) but now im not really sure. as a side note, im losing fluid from the clutch master cyl.every day after ive driven it, i have to add fluid, one time the reservoir was nearly empty. the clutch master cyl & line to the slave were new 5 months ago, cant see any leaking, im guessing the slave might be leaking. (it was new about 8 years ago) ive got a new clutch kit & slave cyl/throwout bearing assy to put in in the next few days. would that needle pilot bearing make noticeable noise if it was bad? id think it would cause the input shaft to stay spinning & id have issues going into gear or changing gears, only time i have trouble with that is when my pedal doesnt have enough pressure, id guess due to air in the system. last fri when i left from work, i took off as soon as i started the truck, i had parked it in gear & luckily i could go right out, it was fine in the morning when i came to work, just lost fluid sitting there somehow. noise has gotton worse over the last month, ive visualized the throwout bearing being seized with the pressure plate fingers scraping it as the clutch is pushed in, i thought maybe the fingers were "eating" through the bearing, causing the slave to over-extend, and thereby causing fluid loss. but now after what ive read about the throwout bearing being in constant spin, it seems my theroy is wrong....any thoughts/ideas?
