noise coming from a 7.5 axle

i have a 94 ,2wd, it has a 7.5 axle and every time i turn to the left sharply there is a clunking noise coming from the rear, how can i tell if it is a locker or not (i know lockers make a noise kinda like that) or maybe there is something else wrong with it. it doesn't do it when i turn to the right.

do you have a locker? if not is posi? if it is posi then maybe the oil in the pumkin needs changed

They will clunk from the c-clip axles walking in and out of the housing.

I had the same exact noise comming from the 7.5 in my 89 STX. I pulled the diff cover to find I had wiped 3 teeth off the ring gear. aparently the 7.5 cant handle 31's bellowing smoke all of the time. But since I upgraded to an 8.8 she loves to spin the 31s now. By the way if you dont take care of it soon, those loose teeth will wipe out your abs sensor in their travels

I had the same shit happen, I pulled the cover off and I was missing teeth on my pinion gear and they were laying in the bottom off the diff, good luck, pull the cover and take a gander
