i have a 94 ,2wd, it has a 7.5 axle and every time i turn to the left sharply there is a clunking noise coming from the rear, how can i tell if it is a locker or not (i know lockers make a noise kinda like that) or maybe there is something else wrong with it. it doesn't do it when i turn to the right.

do you have a locker? if not is posi? if it is posi then maybe the oil in the pumkin needs changed

Clunking

I had the same exact noise comming from the 7.5 in my 89 STX. I pulled the diff cover to find I had wiped 3 teeth off the ring gear. aparently the 7.5 cant handle 31's bellowing smoke all of the time. But since I upgraded to an 8.8 she loves to spin the 31s now:headbang:. By the way if you dont take care of it soon, those loose teeth will wipe out your abs sensor in their travels

I had the same shit happen, I pulled the cover off and I was missing teeth on my pinion gear and they were laying in the bottom off the diff, good luck, pull the cover and take a gander
