no tach to tach cluster swap on an 86

I'm trying to put a factory tach cluster in my 86 ranger 2.9 I got a cluster out of an 87 2.9 and tried the swap nothing worked. the tachs dead fuel gauge is dead temp gauge dead, and the oil light stays on when the key is off. what do I have to change to make this work?

so ive found i just have to repin the green plug but after days of serching and i can only find one reference to the right order in this thread http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148066 but the picture is missing. can anyone tell me what the right order is?
