Hey guys I need some help here. I just got my truck back a few days ago from my parents and it doesn't start any more. My dad thinks it is the negative ground terminal as it was pretty old and worn out.

So i cut the old one off and striped about an inch of the wire off and connected a new terminal. When I go to start I only get one click and nothing else. The lights and radio still work.

I was pretty sure it was the ground wire as before i changed the wire it just clicked once i figured ok i have a bad connections so it put a little water on the terminal thinking that would complete the circuit. It did and it started but that trick no longer works.

It is a 1996 4.0 5speed 2wd.
Also it is a bran new battery.

Any ideas guys.

Have you checked and cleaned the positive wires? Have you checked the wires at the starter end? Is the starter loose?
