i have a 92 4.0l and i just put it in my ranger. it was started once... then i accidently crossed the positive and negative terminals... and im not getting any spark anymore...???? i just went and got a new computer in case i fried the other... but im still getting no sparK??? any ideas?? could it be the EEC relay??? if so... where is it???

EEC Relay should be on Passenger side fenderwell, under the distrobution box.

Do you have power to the coil pack?

do you just check for current on the connector to the coilpack? cuz the one terminal that is closest to the firewall has power?

the EDIS6 is behind the passenger side head light, check all fuses, are the relays clicking? Also is the crank sensor plugged in? How long did you reverse the terminals for?

somebody else mentioned the crank sensor. everything else is solid. the fuses are good everything everything is where it needs to be and acting like it should, but there is no spark. is it the crank sensor. i need some help ASAP! thankyou

??? Changed Crank Sensor!!! Still No Spark!!! What The Heck Could It Be??

hwo are you checking for spark. Also you said only on terminal is recieving power at the coil pack? If so the coil pack may be bad. Its a 3 channel ignition system (waste spark) it fires two terminals at once. One is on the power stroke while the other cylinder is on the exhaust stroke, as this is the wasted spark stroke. Did you check the EDIS module behind the passenger side headlight? You may need to start testing the harness

this crap is killing me! anybody have a harness for purchase? might just go that route! i

Let me suggest you quit throwing new parts at it and get it towed to a dealer where a good diagnostic can be run.

i just got a diagnostic computer, and im getting a 26, 67, 16, 89, 86, and 95. i know this is a lot, but everything is working? i have my fuel pump hotwired, and i started it before i ended up crossing the terminals on the baTTERY. the only code i see that might mean something is the 16???? but its kinda vague? it says Ignition Diagnostic Module failure, or ignition circuit??? kinda vague???

any body have any input??

and i started it before i ended up crossing the terminals on the baTTERY.

any body have any input??

You reversed the battery connections?!?!?!? There's an extremely good chance that computer is HAMMERED. It'd be a wonder it gave you codes at all
