no spark!!!!

help! I was driving my truck around my neighborhood and it just shut off. turns over great but when I checked for spark I had none, replaced the coil and still nothing. I need some help before I buy a new eec or some other part it might not need?

It would be a great help to know what ranger engine you have?

I assume an '88 Ranger

sorry. it has a 2.3l 4cyl.

Most likely TFI module went out, or the pickup in the distributor

make sure you have 12volts at the coil with key on

And yes, TFI systems are very old now and do have problem, go to link above to test the parts.
