I have 1987 Bronco II with the 2.9 and a 5 speed manual trany.

I have no reverse lights in any gear, I've checked the bulbs and both are still good. With the key on engine off and the shifter in reverse I am getting no power to the light fixture. My question is, where is the switch located that controlls the reverse lights? Can or how can this be ajjusted if possible? How much stuff has to be removed to get to this switch?

Thanks
John

Should be on the DS of the tranny. Two wire connector.

Switch is cheap, screws in.

Ok. I will look into it further after the hollidays and the weather is a little nicer. I didn't think it would be a big job, but you never know when something will be a bear...

I already changed the bulbs and I just replaced mine on my 95 Ranger 4.0L 4x4 Ext Cab. But still no reverse lights... :(

Any other suggestions?

Assuming that you have checked the fuse, start checking wires, you probably have a bad one somewhere.

It was the fuse... and now my cig lighter works again for some strange reason... the fuse for it was burnt out too.

Perhaps I should have checked the obvious first? I replaced the whole cig lighter a few years back cause it didn't work. I held it in getting it good and hot trying to start a camp fire out in the woods.

well a bulb blowing out part way can pop the fuse, so you probably didn't waste any money on the bulbs.

reverse lights

hey sorry to keep the thread running, i'm having the same problems, reverse light and my brake light do not engage.
i've checked my fuses and they are all in working order

i don't know where to go from here...i'm pretty new to working on trucks, or vehicles of any sort, my knowledge goes as far as changing my oil.
which wires should be checked next and where may i find them? thank you for your time!
