Hey guys check this out,my truck 88BII 2.9 a4ld.31s n 3.73 4x4
So i was ready to condemn the tranny, there's just no power feels like it is slipping,i've changed the tranny filter n fluid
not to mention ive changed the tps,02,battery,both cables, fuel and eec relays, thermostat, fuel reg, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition coil and checked all the other sensors i havent replaced, cleaned all the grounds and the truck still just doesn't feel right.
In the past i read about the throttle cable mod but didn't think anything of it.
In my research i saw fordman list things to check before condemning the tranny. So went and checked my throttle cable sure enough there was about 2.5 inches of free play before the pedal actually moved the cable. The kickdown cable was loose as well.So i put in some little cable lock nuts to take up the slack.Well holy sh--! the truck has balls now!It screams!

so double check ur throttle cables it has restored the power and better shift points for the tranny and just all around better driving for the truck.
And big thanks to all for the info sharing.I,ve learned alot from this site.
