I had my friend change my o/2 sensor in my 2.9 because the last owner
cut the wire at the sensor and left the pig tail hanging instead of tying it
up and it melted on the exhaust. before the o/2 change the truck ran great
a little rich and revved to the moon now it only revs to 2500 and hardly and
exhaust comes out of the pipe any suggestions? wrong 0/2? hope you guys
have some answers. my fake mechanic friend says it might be the timing.

Check and make sure that the ground wire for the sensor didn't get damaged.

The 2.9 uses a 3-wire sensor. Two of them are for the heater, one is for the signal. For the computer to see the signal it has to have a ground, which is an orange and black wire bolted to the back of the RH head. If that ground is off it will run like a raped ape while the sensor is unplugged, and do every weird thing you can think of when the sensor is plugged in.
