So my question is quite simply what is the difference between a standard 1993 ford ranger and a 1993 ranger splash? I know the splash came 2 inch's lower up front and one inch lower in rear then reg. rangers however no one can tell me what they did to achieve this, not even ford. I do know that the part number for the beams are the same so i can rule that out but what i don't know is did they change spindle's/coils/shocks/brackets or what. Looking to do a lift to my 1993 splash and considering swapping standard ranger parts in the front to lift it but didn't know. Thanks!

Only way your gonna know for sure is by holding each part side by side. Especially if ford doesn't know. gonna guess if you have beams, it's done by coil height.

I was thinking coils because i wouldn't think ford would create and mold new spindles just for a special edition truck but who knows. If it is truly just coils then my idea was to buy a 2 inch lift coil for a standard 93' ranger. This in theory would give me 2 inch's up that the splash is lowered then an additional 2 inch's. Or just buy standard coils and get two inch's up. I'm trying to fit 31's without it looking like it's rolling on doughnuts and want the end product to have the front slightly higher than rear. Until I save enough to do a big boy susupension down the road haha.

I'm with this guy. Front probably has shorter springs and the rear probably has a 1" block rather than the 2" the regular rangers have. That's entirely speculation though, never had my hands on a splash.

I'm guessing the truck is 2wd, so it wouldn't have a block. One could be added though and that would get you 2".

yes its a 2wd. The reason ford couldn't tell me is he uses the code off door jams to compare part numbers. Just was lucky that the beams were able to compare without codes.
