i installed a new oil pump on my 302 along with a new pan and oil pressure guage. the pump is a summit brand standard pressure/high volume pump. the guage shows zero pressure and i have no oil getting to the top of the heads. i know this cuz they are also brand new and nothing is sitting in the rockers and the hex plugs on the heads. im beyond myself with this problem and really could use some help.

Stupid question:

Did you remember to install the oil pump drive rod?

That's the rod that goes from the oil pump to the cam gear bit.

Another question:

Did you pre-prime the oil pump? Most of the time it's just packing the gears of the oil pump with patrolium (spelling is off) jelly. The jelly will allow for the pump to build suction and the jelly will break down wicked quick and do no harm.
