No more Paterno at PSU

This is almost old news now but as of last night Paterno has been fired from Penn State. Paterno and president Spanier along with various others were let go at the decision of the board of trustees. This all due to the shock wave of former PSU staff Sandusky having affairs with young children. I agree what Sandusky has done is wrong. I don't really feel the university is handling things in a correct manner let along the media blowing things up as well. As a PSU alumni I have seen many good things Paterno has done for that school. In my personal opinion he may have been there a little to long but I can't speak down about him because he was still working at an age I might not live to see. His retirement was announced to be at the end of the season. I just seems with some of the actions around the school they must like to have a roit ever 10 years or so.

He was having "sexual contact" with 10 year old boys that were a part of his "2nd mile" charity program. While he was a coach and after he retired.

find the indictment and read it all. if you can make it through it all with puking, you win a prize. the guy was, no IS, a perverted jackass and he needs to be taken out back and tortured and then shot. i dont give a shit if he was a great coach or whatever, no excuses for what he did.

i feel bad for paterno having his name tarnished b/c this prick was so fuhqed in the head. no question though, paterno should have handled it differently. i'd have gotten the police involved, not just the dean or president of the school.

Paterno is the one who knew (not the only one, I might add) , but only reported it to his boss, not the police .

They werent college students, they were 8-10+ year old boys.

This is a crazy situation, I also think Joe could have handled this differently and should have gone to the police years ago. I am from the area, this is a local issue, I can see Beaver Stadium from where I work. You guys have heard of this scandal, but it has been ALL I have heard since the story first broke. Penn State is bigger than any sport and the university needs to do what is best for the whole school. Last night's riots turned over a local news van and bent a few light poles, It has been worse. Saturday's game is going to be very emotional!

Now.....in hindsight...everybody says he should have done more...

Seems to me that the "Board", in a way, did to Paterno the same thing that the Perv-

According to the news last night the riots had the Nebraskans worried about violence. Now I am kinda lost on what team to root for instead of my golden rule of thumb of whoever is playing Nebraska.

this was also my take on it. Not saying this was a false accusations, but I have seen careers (military) ended by false accusations and people seeking revenge so things like "he was touching my kids" get made up and tossed out there (kinda like whats going on with Herman Cain right now....... the latest one) wether or not the person was guilty.... once the accusation is made your career is done. Paterno did what he thought he needed to do to protect the kids and his employee..... maybe he should have stayed on top of it..... but weren't also alot of mysterious disappearances surrounding this case ...... something about a prosecutor that was going to file charges and disappeared and was declared dead last year?.......... Maybe Paterno was warned to keep his mouth shut....

So an assistant football coach molests children and Paterno phones it in to his boss.....nothing gets done. Paterno should have called the police since nothing was done.
If you think Paterno got shafted then you need to learn about ethics and morality.
